At Patterson Hospitality Group, we anticipate guests' needs with flexibility and innovation, while upholding the highest standards of sustainability and social responsibility. We provide exceptional facilities, ensuring excellent service while positively impacting our communities and environment.
As a part of the local and international community the Patterson Hospitality Group understands that our actions impacts those around us as well as the environment at large. The Group is actively involved in reducing our impact on the environment, helping various charitable organisations and supporting local artists and suppliers. As our commitment to helping New Zealand remain a clean and green country, we make sure to preserve our award-winning gardens with utmost care, we continually monitor and aim to reduce our impact on the environment by implementing the latest energy saving devices. To support our community, we source our produce from locally owned and operated suppliers and utilise the skills of local craftsmen for any work done around the hotel. We re-used timber from our rooms during the refurbishments in 2016-2017 which reduced our actual consumption of natural wood by 60% for a similar project.
Carbon Footprint - We have measured our Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and are committed to reducing them by 3% over the next three years. To promote sustainable transport, we offer EV charging stations at the Commodore Hotel, and bicycles are available for guests at all three of our hotels.
Supporting Biodiversity - We are committed to supporting local biodiversity. Hotel Montreal hosts two rooftop beehives, and at the Commodore Hotel, our gardens feature native plants. Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel employees also volunteer for trapping and tree planting.
Waste management - We have assessed waste across the group and integrated waste education into staff training. Guest rooms feature multiple bins, and reusable liquid pumps have minimised single-use amenities to reduce plastic waste. |
Community Involvement

We priortise sourcing produce from locally owned suppliers and utilise local craftsmen for hotel projects.
We collaborate with Ara Institute by offering internships through their Tourism School, providing valuable experience to aspiring hospitality professionals.
We actively support our community through sponsorships of local events, sports teams, and golf clubs. While also contributing to various charitable organisations, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the community.
At Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel we have achieved the Enviro Silver award from Qualmark for our commitment to being a sustainable luxury accommodation. We hope to achieve Enviro Gold in our next assessment.
